LUVENDRLuvendr is the project of ︎Alexander Martinz and Marie Reichel. Their sound brings together sample-based, tracker-built beats with an unexpected take on German Schlager, pulling it into the present  until its sweetness turns into something more ambiguous. Their debut album, It's Gonna Get Better But First It Will Hurt,  once floated through shoegaze textures and heartbreak, carried by English lyrics. Their sound has since shifted  and found firmer ground. The vocals move between rap and melody – deep, deliberate, toggling between intimacy and confrontation.  With lyrics now in their native language, they feel sharper,  more confident and with a hint of playfulness. Luvendr treats genres not as a home but as a set of tools,  drawing on hip hop, pop and Schlager as needed. Music that feels comforting and unsettling in equal measure. [︎New album coming soon]

In this album Luvendr deconstruct classic principles of pop music,
referencing shoegaze and dream pop, while enveloping
in a comforting embrace. At the heart of the sound lies a blend of
intimate bedroom sensibility and vocals that oscillate between
reverberation and an intimacy, almost too close for comfort.

It's a journey guided by the nostalgia of dictaphone recordings,
an auditory time capsule that evokes a hypnagogic sense of both
melancholic longing and intriguing familiarity.
